    The USPS Operation Santa Program

What better way to start the Holidays than by making some kids happy by giving them their favorite presents! USPS is once again hosting its Operation Santa Program and will be accepting letters from kids! You will have an amazing opportunity to help others and spread some holiday joy to those who need it the most.

How and what exactly is Operation Santa? So, every year, there are a bunch of letters from hopeful kids to Santa Claus with their wishes and hopes sent to USPS, and instead of throwing those letters away, they decided to respond by beginning Operation Santa, as it’s known these days. When USPS receives letters from all over the country, they put those letters up for “adoption”.

    How to Adopt a Letter:

    The USPS Operation Santa Mail

    • Starting today, November 3rd, visit the USPS Operation Santa website and click “letter adoption.”
    • Select “register & verify ID”
    • Create an account and verify your ID and password. (If unable to get approved online then, visit one of the 19,000 participating Post Office locations with a Label Broker service)
    • After you’re approved, you’ll receive an email with detailed information on how to join in!
    • November 17th: Letters are now available for adoption; be sure to register first.
    • December 6th: Last day to place wish list letters in the mail.
    • December 13th: Last day to adopt letters and ship packages. Adoptions close at 8 pm ET.

Note that businesses are also allowed to participate with each employee needing to also go through the verification process.

A Child Writing a Letter to Santa

Here’s how! Through December 6th, children can send their letter to Santa, put it in an envelope with a First-Class Mail stamp, fill in their complete return address (apartment number, directional information, and zip code), and mail it to Santa’s official workshop address (below).

    123 Elf Road
    North Pole, 88888

To summarize, through December 6th, children can send wish list letters in the mail. And starting November 3rd, you need to register to adopt letters! More about it here!

I am ashamed that I’ve been a member for so long and rarely comment. I fly through in and out in such haste that I don’t take the time to appreciate it all. This post really reminded me of that. Thank you for all that you share to us🫶🏻
