What better way to start the Holidays than making some kids happy by giving them their favorite presents! USPS is once again hosting its Operation Santa Program starting today, November 20th! You have this amazing opportunity to help others and spread some holiday joy to those who need it the most.
How and what is exactly Operation Santa? So, every year there are a bunch of letters from hopeful kids to Santa Claus with their wishes and hopes sent to USPS, and instead of throwing those letters away, they decided to respond by beginning Operation Santa, as it’s known in these later days. When USPS receives the letters from all over the country, they put those letters for “adoption”. After that, you can purchase the items on a child’s wish list and with help from the USPS, deliver them to the families. Note that you’re allowed to adopt up to 15 letters.
How to participate? Here’s how! Through December 11th, write your letter to Santa, put it in an envelope with a First-Class Mail stamp, fill in your complete return address (apartment number, directional information, and zip code), and mail it to Santa’s official workshop address (below).

- Select “register & verify ID”
- Create an account and verify your ID and password. (If unable to get approved online then, visit one of the 19,000 participating Post Office locations with a Label Broker service)

- That’s it!
Note that businesses are also allowed to participate with each employee needing to also go through the verification process. To summarise, through today, November 20th you need to register, then through December 11th you need to place wish list letters in the mail, and December 18th is the last day for adopters to adopt letters and ship their packages.
