What better way to start the Holidays than by making some kids happy by giving them their favorite presents! USPS is once again hosting its Operation Santa Program and will be accepting letters from kids! You will have an amazing opportunity to help others and spread some holiday joy to those who need it the most.
How and what exactly is Operation Santa? So, every year, there are a bunch of letters from hopeful kids to Santa Claus with their wishes and hopes sent to USPS, and instead of throwing those letters away, they decided to respond by beginning Operation Santa, as it’s known these days. When USPS receives letters from all over the country, they put those letters up for “adoption”.
This year, families, friends and coworkers can team up to adopt an entire household through a shared invite link. The expanded Santa’s Gift Shoppe lets you shop for gifts online, including Toys “R” US items, with free shipping on orders over $49. If you want to shop in stores, use a digital QR code at participating Post Office locations to instantly print encrypted shipping labels.
How to Adopt a Letter:
- September 14th: Letters to Santa are accepted.
- November 2nd: Registration opens for adopters.
- Create and verify your account.
- November 16th:Ā Letters are now available for adoption.
- December 5th:Ā Last day to place wish list letters in the mail.
- December 12th:Ā Last day to adopt letters. Adoptions close at 8 pm ET.
Want your kids to join?
Here’s how! Through December 5th, children can send their letter to Santa, put it in an envelope with a First-Class Mail stamp, fill in their complete return address (apartment number, directional information, and zip code), and mail it to Santaās official workshop address (below).
