What about disabled teachers like myself? I worked 14yrs with severely autistic children ages 3-6(for 12yrs then 2 more years when asked to help a new teacher for ages 11-13; (same kids I potty trained). Now homeschooling my autistic 2 yr old granddaughter and 4 yr granddaughter with ADHD to prepare them for school. I was blessed to work with children most do not have the patience to handle. I have been bitten, head butted, scratched, kicked, fingers broken, arm pulled out of joint from them dropping to the ground while holding my hand. (I was told to just let go of them which would led to them banging their heads on the ground. NO WAY I WOULD DO THAT). I prayed for them and for myself and then went back day after day, year after year. NEVER being angry at them because I understand that the behavior was due to lack of communication skills. I taught them to use the bathroom, use photos to communicate, follow a visual schedule to reduce anxiety, sign language, then read, write, and math. I was blessed to be able to watch them come out of their shells and witness their gifts (such as photograph memory). I LOVED my job and went into depression after a failed back surgery leaving me with chronic pain and neuropathy in both legs from being I injured repeatedly on the job. I can no longer work unfortunately. My oldest daughter now has my job at the same school district. They inspired me, taught me, made me laugh and cry sometimes too. I’d do it all over again! I loved them as if each of them were my own. Perhaps God was preparing me to help my own grandchildren who are also special, unique and amazing ❤️🙏 I seemed to be a magnet to other children in other classes most teachers had no patience for. I was the PTA president for the elementary and Jr High school my children attended, served as the Chairman for School Site Council, Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout Den Mom, Softball mgr/coach, Little League mgr/coach. I just happen to LOVE children and believe it takes a village to raise a child❤️

        Helen (Free Stuff Finder) :

Woah! That’s incredible! Thank you so much for being there for all those children and never giving up on them, that’s truly amazing and so generous of you. The world needs more people like you who will have so much love and patience in their heart. Also, I’m so sorry to hear about what you went through, and I hope you are feeling better now. And yes, disabled teachers can also enter the giveaway. Thanks for being a part of the FSF fam! 🤗

        • Thank you Helen, I do still live with chronic pain (since 2012). Even so, I would still not change a thing. I love those children as if they were my own. It’s God I thank for giving me the patience, love and understanding of their needs to help them become the people HE put them here to be❤️ I am only one little helper in a big group of people placed in their lives 😉😊❤️😘

I knew I wanted to teach since I was a young kid. I have been teaching since 1996- then as an aid when I went to college. Most years I taught special Ed. I loved it! Now I have a licensed in home preschool. These kids soak up SO much!♥️
