If you’ve got Martinelli’s Apple Juice at home, stop and check the label. Nearly 170,000 bottles are being recalled because they might contain patulin, a toxin that comes from moldy apples
This stuff isn’t harmless – it can cause stomach issues, and in some cases, even mess with your DNA. And since patulin survives the pasteurization process, the FDA takes it seriously. The recall was first issued on March 18th and became a Class II recall on April 22nd, meaning there’s a small chance of temporary or reversible health issues.
To be safe, check for bottles with the UPC 0 41244 04102 2 and a best-by date of December 5, 2026. These were sold in 28 states. If you’ve got one, don’t drink it – return or toss it. You can find the full list on the FDA’s site here.
