If you own an Igloo Flip & Tow Rolling Cooler, it’s time to take a closer look. Earlier this year, the Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled over a million of these coolers – and now that number just got bigger. As of May 8, 2025, the recall includes an additional 130,000 coolers, along with 20,000 sold in Canada and 5,900 in Mexico.
What’s the Problem?
The tow handle is the issue. It can snap back unexpectedly and pinch your fingers – hard. This has already led to 78 reported injuries, including 26 serious ones like fingertip amputations, fractures, and deep cuts. Back in February, only 12 injuries had been reported, so this is clearly a growing concern.
Stop Using It If You Bought It Here
These coolers were sold from January 2019 to January 2025 at major retailers like Costco, Target, Academy Sports, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Amazon and Igloocoolers. They typically sold for $80 to $140. If that sounds like the one you’ve got in your garage or trunk, stop using it now.
