    Tax-free weekends are here, and it’s time for back-to-school season! Everyone is excited about Sales Tax Holidays because during this time, you can save money by shopping tax-free on select items like school supplies, computers, clothing, and more. Many online retailers, such as Amazon, Walmart, and Target, participate as well. Please note that each state may have specific items that are not eligible, so make sure to check out their lists.

    Which States are Doing Back-to-School Tax-Free Shopping?

    • Arkansas August 2nd – 3rd – clothing and footwear up to $100/item, accessories under $50, select school/art supplies, select books (workbooks, textbooks), electronic devices (no maximum)
    • Oklahoma August 1st – 3rd – clothing & shoes up to $100/item
    • South Carolina August 1st – 3rd – clothing & accessories, diapers, footwear, school supplies, computers, software, printers, musical instruments for school, and certain bed and bath supplies
    • Missouri August 1st – 3rd – clothing & shoes up to $100/item, computers up to $1,000, computer hardware up to $500, school supplies up to $30/item
    • Virginia August 1st – 3rd – clothing, footwear, & school supplies up to $100/item
    • Ohio August 1st – 14th – clothing & shoes up to $75/item, diapers up to $75/item, school supplies up to $20/item
    • West Virginia August 1st – 4th – clothing up to $125/item, school supplies up to $50/item, sports equipment up to $150/item, computers/tablets up to $500/item, instructional materials up to $20/item
    • Texas August 8th – 10th – clothing and shoes up to $100/item, school supplies & backpacks up to $100/item
    • Massachusetts August 9th – 10th – retail items of up to $2,500, purchased in Massachusetts for personal use
    • Maryland August 10th – 16th – clothing & shoes up to $100/item, the first $40 of a backpack purchase
    • Connecticut August 17th – 23rdclothing and footwear up to $300
    • Florida August 1st – 31st – clothing and footwear up to $100/item, school supplies up to $50, computers and computer-related accessories up to $1,500
    • New Mexico, July 25th – July 27th – clothing and shoes for under $100/item, computers for under $1000/item, computer peripheral items for under $500/item, school supplies for under $30/item
    • Iowa August 1st – 2nd – clothing & footwear for $100/item
    • Tennessee July 25th – July 27th – clothing up to $100/item, school supplies up to $100/item, computers up to $1,500/item, diapers up to $100/item

                Hello! As per the Arkansas 2024 Sales Tax Holiday, all retailers are required to participate and may not charge tax on items that are legally tax-exempt during the Sales Tax Holiday. Hope that helps!
