Ross is planning to expand and open approximately 100 new stores this year – about 75 Ross Dress for Less and 25 dd’s Discounts stores. They started opening new stores last February and March with eleven Ross Dress for Less and eight dd’s Discounts stores in thirteen different states. They have not stated yet where would the location of the new stores would be but the first nineteen stores opened are located in California, Texas, Florida, and Wisconsin.
Ross’ Expansion Plan
Currently, Ross is now operating a total of 2,034 Ross Dress for Less and dd’s Discounts stores covering forty states, the District of Columbia, and Guam. They are planning to continue growing and expand up to a total of 3600 stores – with 2900 Ross Dress for Less and 700 dd’s Discounts stores.
Ross Open New Stores as Other Stores Close
Store closures are standard practice among traditional retailers who often evaluate the profitability of each location. In this round of closures, however, more retailers are taking the digital experience into consideration as well as the location and appropriate size of their stores. While giant retailers like Bed Bath & Beyond are kicking off the new year with store closures, Ross will continue to open new stores nationwide as they continue to hit the trends since the pandemic era. Don’t miss out on checking your local Ross stores as every Sunday, store managers receive the markdown list from their headquarters. Markdown departments may vary weekly but nonetheless are the same nationwide and are marked once a month. Also, they have already started their January Clearance Event in many locations and itâs different everywhere, though not available in each and every one of its stores.
