Download Vons App & Set up Vons for U
To even begin your Vons couponing journey you must download their app and sign up for a Vons for U account here (free to join). A valid mobile phone number or email address is required for Vons for U participation. If you don’t have an email address, you can get an email account for free through various email service providers, and if you subscribe to email notifications, you will be notified when new offers are available.
That is a great place to get all your deals, coupons and rewards in one place! Using this while shopping will earn you points every month, which can be exchanged for valuable coupons or even free items! Additionally, you’ll receive customized coupons tailored to your buying patterns.

What Are The Vons for U Membership Perks?
As a Vons for U member, you will receive weekly personalized deals, earn points on all eligible purchases, redeem Rewards for discounts on gas and groceries, receive an annual birthday treat, get a free item every month, pet perks, and more. Scroll below to see all of these benefits explained in detail.

What Is the Birthday Treat and How Do I Get it?
Want free birthday gifts from Vons? At the beginning of your birthday month, qualifying Vons for U members will receive a birthday treat offer (up to $10 value) placed into their Vons for U account.
To qualify for a birthday treat offer, simply add your birthday (month and day) to your Vons for U account and use your Vons for U account to purchase an item in-store or online within the 12 months prior to the offer being added to your Vons for U account.
How Do I Get a Freebie Every Month?
Who doesn’t love freebies?! As a Vons for U member, you will receive an offer for a free item (up to $10 value) once per month. Simply add the offer to your Vons for U account prior to the expiration date specified on the offer. You will be eligible to receive your first free item at the beginning of the month following the month in which you registered for Vons for U.
You must redeem the offer in-store or as part of your online transaction prior to the expiration date specified on the offer. To continue receiving monthly free item offers after redeeming your first free item offer, you must use your Vons for U account to buy an item in-store or online within the last 12 weeks of redeeming the offer.
How Do I Earn Points & Rewards?
In order to receive Points on your purchases, be sure to use your registered mobile number or scan your Member Card (in the Vons for U mobile app) at checkout:
So, for each dollar you spend on groceries or pharmacy products at Vons, you will earn one point and two points for every dollar you spend on gift cards. Once you reach 100 points, you can redeem them for only one “reward” from a selection of tiers, offering you the flexibility to choose your own reward.
Purchase reward thresholds (if any) will be calculated based upon customer’s final price before deductions for any manufacturer coupons.
Below you can see an example of one offering from every rewards tier:
- Spend $100 (Earn 1 Reward): Free one-dozen carton of eggs
- Spend $200 (Earn 2 Rewards): Free 59-ounce orange juice
- Spend $300 (Earn 3 Rewards): $4 off your next purchase
- Spend $400 (Earn 4 Rewards): $5 off your next purchase
- Spend $500 (Earn 5 Rewards): $7 off any meat department purchase
- Spend $600 (Earn 6 Rewards): Free Signature Farms 48-ounce Bacon
- Spend $700 (Earn 7 Rewards): $10 off any $10 purchase coupon
In case you want to earn your points to save on fuel, here’s how that works:
- Spend $100 (Earn 1 Reward) = 10¢ off per gallon
- Spend $200 (Earn 2 Rewards) = 20¢ off per gallon
- Spend $300 (Earn 3 Rewards) = 30¢ off per gallon
How Do I Redeem Rewards?
Rewards can be redeemed for discounts on gas at participating fuel stations (Texaco or Chevron) or for certain grocery items from Vons store locations and mobile apps or websites. To redeem Rewards for groceries, go to the Rewards section of their website, or follow these steps in the app:
- Tap “Rewards” icon on the top menu bar or tap “Member” icon on the bottom right of your screen, and verify that you have Rewards available. (It should say 1 Reward, 2 Rewards, etc.)
- Tap “See All” or “Redeem” to view your redeemable rewards
- Tap “Clip” to use the desired Reward
Once clipped, the applicable Rewards will be deducted from your Vons for U account. When you shop the selected Rewards items and input your member (phone) number or scan your member QR code at checkout, your Rewards will be automatically applied.
Want To Split Your Rewards?
If you have multiple Rewards, you may redeem some or all of them in an Albertsons Companies grocery Vons store, mobile app, or website for discounted or free grocery items. You may then use your remaining Rewards at a participating fuel station (up to the maximum amount allowable at that station).
Do Points & Rewards Expire?
Yes, Points convert to Rewards in increments of 100 (100 Points = 1 Reward). At the end of each month, any Points less than 100 will expire. Rewards expire at the end of the month following the one in which they were earned.
Coupon Stacking at Vons
You want to save even more at Vons? Inside the Vons app, you can find digital coupons (Vons for U coupons). You can also use coupons from the Sunday newspaper. Whichever you use, make sure to follow these rules:
- The coupon in not expired
- One coupon per item
- You have the correct items to use the coupon on
Please note that Vons for U coupons might be store coupons or they might be manufacturer coupons. You must know the difference here because they don’t allow stacking a digital Vons for U manufacturer coupon with a paper manufacturer coupon! But you can stack a digital or paper Vons for U store coupon with a paper manufacturer coupon.
How to Recognize Manufacturer Coupons in the Vons App?
If it’s a manufacturer coupon, it’ll say “Coupon Center”, and if it’s a store coupon, it’ll say “Personalized Deal” when you click on the full digital coupon offer in their app. If you really want to get into the details, you can always check the fine print on the coupon. If there’s a physical address for the manufacturer listed, you’ll know it’s a manufacturer coupon and not a store coupon.

Vons Coupon Policy
You can see the complete Vons coupon policy here, but we also listed some important points to keep in mind:
- You can’t use coupons on “free items” received from a store offer or sale, such as a Buy 1, Get 1 Free sale
- No moneymakers: Vons will not give you cash back when your coupons bring your total down to below zero
- They won’t accept paper coupons for a curbside pickup or delivery order, but you can absolutely apply Vons for U coupons to your order
- Vons will not accept competitors’ coupons
