    Midea Window Air Conditioner

On June 5th, Midea announced a recall on 1.7 million air conditioner units due to a serious mold hazard. These air conditioners can create an environment where mold can grow due to draining problems, and cause possible health risks, especially for those with allergies or respiratory issues.

The recall includes Midea U and U+ window air conditioners sold from March 2020 through May 2025. These were sold under several brand names, including Midea, Comfort Aire, Danby, Frigidaire, Insignia, Keystone, LBG Products, Mr. Cool, Perfect Aire, and Sea Breeze.

If you have any of these air conditioners, you should stop using it immediately and request either a refund or a free repair. To begin the refund or repair process visit here or call 1-888-345-0256.
