Everyone who paid for an app through the Google Play Store or paid for in-app content through Google Play Billing between August 16th, 2016, and September 30th, 2023, while living in any State, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the Virgin Islands, may be eligible for a class action settlement.
According to the lawsuit, Google monopolized app distribution and in-app billing on certain Android devices, causing consumers to pay higher prices, limiting app choices, and misleading the public about alternative app sources and billing policies. The Settlement provides a fund of $700 million to be used to pay individual consumers.
