On August 15th, (officially announced by the FDA on September 8th), PepsiCo recalled some of their canned Starbucks drinks due to possible metal contamination. It was a voluntary recall after they discovered that there was a detection of possible contamination from metal fragments in drinks.
In actuality, over 220 cases of the canned Starbucks Vanilla Espresso Triple Shot Energy Beverages were involved in that recall. Each of these cases contains 12 cans of 15-ounce Starbucks beverages with a Best By date of March 20, 2023.
These affected drinks were distributed to stores in Arkansas, Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Florida, Oklahoma, and Texas, but not to Starbucks cafe locations. Thankfully, there have been no reported illnesses or injuries due to the possible contamination yet.
And this isn’t the only Starbucks recall this 2022 year. On June 21, Starbucks debuted its Chicken, Maple Butter, and Egg sandwich but had to recall it after viral reports of people getting sick from it. Â
So, if you have Starbucks Vanilla Espresso Triple Shot Energy Beverages in your fridge, you can either throw them away or return them to the store for a full refund. Be sure to check if your Starbucks drink fits these criteria!Â
