On December 14th, the manufacturer of the PowerXL kitchen appliances – Empower Brands, has made a recall of 300.000 PowerXL Dual Basket Air Fryers! The models that were recalled carry the product codes DUAF-10 and DUAF-005 Vortex Dual Basket Air Fryers in Black and Cinnamon color.
Allegedly, a U-type connector that gives the option of connecting the two baskets of the air fryer can break during use posing a risk of burns. There have been more than forty reports of connector breaks with three reported burn injuries.
What can you do?
If you have made a purchase of the recalled models in the period between August 2021 and October 2023, sold at a price of $60 – $190 at Target, Walmart etc., you are eligible for a full refund! You should stop using the air fryer immediately, and call Empower Brands to get further directions to obtain your refund!
