The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Curtis International have issued a recall of over 600,000 Frigidaire mini fridges due to 26 reports of sparking, melting, smoking, and more, causing $700,00 in damages. Please note that not all units are impacted. Affected models include: EFMIS129, EFMIS137, EFMIS149, and EFMIS175.
If you own one, check the model number on the back of the fridge and go here. Search the model number and scroll to the bottom for recall status. If your unit is affected, stop using it right away. Unplug the fridge, cut the cord, and write “Recall” clearly on the front of the unit. Submit the recall form here with photos showing the model label and the “Recall” marking. Once they approve it, you’ll receive a physical check. See more details here!
