National Park Service is offering a free entrance day to national parks! Their yearly calendar of free entrance days is carefully chosen days span across different seasons, offering Americans budget-friendly vacation possibilities. Normally, gaining access to any of the 63 national parks can range from $10 to $35. Check out the parks that are participating in this event!
Note that the National Parks have changes to Entrance Fees and Passes in 2026. See them below:
- America the Beautiful passes will cover entrance fees for up to two motorcycles.
- A new America the Beautiful pass for nonresidents of the US will be available for $250.
- Entrance fee free days will only apply to US citizens and residents.
- The following parks will have a nonresident fee of $100 for each person (16 and over) who is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

- February 16th, 2026 – Presidents Day (Washington’s Birthday)
- May 25th, 2026 – Memorial Day
- June 14th, 2026 – Flag Day (President Trump’s Birthday)
- July 3rd to 5th, 2026 – Independence Day Weekend
- August 25th, 2026 – 110th Birthday of the National Park Service
- September 17th, 2026 – Constitution Day
- October 27th, 2026 – Theodore Roosevelt’s Birthday
- November 11th, 2026 – Veterans Day

Because of the government shutdown most national parks entrance gates are not being manned. They are not charging entrance fee. Most services are not available with minimum staff. But could be a chance to enter a national park for free. Please respect the land carry all your waste out with you. Happy Hiking!
