After 35 years of holding the price of $1, Dollar Tree has announced that they would be raising the price of the majority of its products to $1.25 in all stores by early 2022.
Dollar Tree said that the slightly higher prices will give the them more flexibility to reintroduce many “customer favorites” that were previously discontinued because of the $1 price point and for them to introduce new products to its shelves.
The company said the higher price point is a permanent move, and not the result of “short-term or transitory market conditions”. It was also announced that the $1.25 price point will be rolled out to more than 2,00 Dollar Tree stores this coming December.

Everything is going up so I’m not surprised that it hit this store as well. At least it’s still affordable.

I have to say I find it interesting that they stated that the rise in prices will allow them to bring back so called customer favorites when EVERY Dollar Tree not only instructs the employees as well as Trains them to explain to customers that they have no idea if they will ever have the same product twice, because the person or group that orders the stock, buys and bids on all mark downs and discontinued items, which allows them to have huge quantities with the stores they have arranged agreements.
What one store may have, the next will not. On top of that there is a Dollar Tree App that you can download from the app store and not one single Dollar Tree is allowed to use the codes and therefore we do not get the savings.

It sucks. I loved that I could rely on $1 items but I get it and I will still shop there. $1.25 is better than $5 lol
….but hopefully they using it to pay the workers more

They are, I saw them selling stools and baskets for between $3 and $5

I liked going to dollar store to get gift bags.. I guess it’s still a good price and affordable ☺️
