I just bought the $130 membership a few weeks ago on Groupon with a MasterCard. I still received my $50 shop card and my $100 off $200 online.
You can only buy from Costco with Visa cards though. I didn’t know that when I first signed up. I took cash in the store to pay.
It kept declining my card when I first bought the Groupon though so I called my credit card company and it finally went through.

Hi all, FYI, for Costco policy to get $45 rewards card, the member must enroll auto renewal with Visa credit card or Costco visa credit card onto account. Otherwise, youll eat the cost of $65. Groupon didnt clarify on this point when you sign up the Costco membership. Master credit card is invalid for the $45 incentive card.

Thanks for the info, wished I wouldâve looked at comments first. I was going to wait the 14 days before asking about the gift card. I did sign up for auto renewal but after the fact Iâm curious if they will issue the $45 Costco card still? If not I will ask for refund that is the only reason i purchased this
Hi Grace. The confirmation email shows $45 incentive card would delivery within 2 weeks with no issue, If you sign up for auto renewal with Visa credit card or costco credit card for new membership.
