Woman Claiming Money in front of Computer

People as customers sometimes file a lawsuit against a certain company for some damage they suffered because the company failed to uphold the values they promised to provide. You may also be a part of a certain group of customers that qualify for a money refund as a result of so-called Class Action Settlements being issued.

A list of Companies, Products, and Settlements, along with certain details about what the issue was at hand, how much, and in which way a certain amount of money can be claimed, follows, so you can check and benefit from a situation where you have knowingly or unknowingly been damaged.

    Amazon Prime $2.5 Billion Settlement

A Person Holding Phone with Amazon Prime

Amazon agreed to a $2.5 billion FTC class action settlement to resolve claims that the company tricked consumers into signing up for its Prime subscription service and then made it hard to cancel. Amazon will pay a $1 billion civil penalty and provide $1.5 billion in refunds to an estimated 35 million customers.

    Who is eligible:

    • Customers who signed up for Prime between June 23rd, 2019, and June 23rd, 2025
    • Customers who attempted to cancel their Prime membership but couldn’t complete it

    How the Refunds Work

    • Automatic Refunds: If you used 3three or fewer benefits in a year, you should have already received a refund automatically.
    • Must File a Claim: If you used between 4 and 9 benefits, you are still eligible, but you must submit a claim form by July 27th, 2026.
    • Not Eligible: If you used 10 or more benefits in a year, you generally won’t qualify for this settlement.

    Compensation:

    • Up to $51

    Required changes:

    • Clear, visible option or button to decline Prime (no more “No, I don’t want free shipping”)
    • Simple, streamlined cancellation using the same method as sign-up
    • Oversight by an independent third party to ensure compliance
    • Upfront disclosure of Prime’s cost, auto-renewal, billing, and cancellation terms

    Proof needed:

If you used three or fewer Prime benefits within any 12-month period of your subscription. Other eligible consumers will get a notification from Amazon. If you didn’t get an automatic refund but think you were overcharged, you can still get paid! You don’t need receipts – just fill out the claim form using the email linked to your Amazon account. Overcharged for Beef Class Action Settlement

    Chopped Fresh Beef Overview

There is currently an antitrust class action lawsuit against several beef processors—including JBS, Cargill, National Beef, and Tyson Foods which claims that they conspired to limit the supply of beef and increase prices in the market.

    Who is eligible:

    • Customers who purchased beef products between August 1, 2014 and December 31, 2019.

Which products are included in the settlement?

    • The settlement includes a wide selection of fresh and frozen beef products. You can see the full list of included products here
    • Note that this is for meat purchased in one of the following states/jurisdictions (known as “Repealer Jurisdictions” for this case): Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

    Compensation:

    • Cash Payment: Two of the defendants, Tyson and Cargil, have agreed to Settlements totaling $87.5 million ($55 million from Tyson and $32.5 million from Cargill) hence you will be eligible for an equal share payment of the Net Settlement Fund which will be proportional to the amount of included beef you purchased during the class period.

    Who is eligible:

    • US residents whose account number and routing number were exposed when a third party accessed and obtained certain information without authorization on Fidelity’s computer network between August 17, 2024, and August 19, 2024, (the “Data Security Incident”), including those whom Fidelity provided notice of the Data Security Incident.

      Compensation:

      • Reimbursement of Documented Monetary Losses: If you incurred actual, documented out-of-pocket losses due to the Data Security Incident, you can get back up to $5,000. The losses must have occurred between August 17, 2024, and July 27, 2026, and you cannot claim a payment for expenses that have already been reimbursed by a third party. You need to provide proof, like bank statements or receipts, to show how much you spent or lost. You can also send notes or papers you made yourself to explain or support other proof, but those notes or papers alone are not enough to make a valid claim. Your proof or notes should show that your expenses were because of the Data Security Incident.
      • Pro Rata Cash Payment: All Settlement Class Members may claim a pro rata cash payment of $100 but may be larger or smaller depending on the total claims filed – no proof or explanation required to claim this payment.
      • CCPA Payment (California residents only): Settlement Class Members who are California residents may claim a payment of $50 for the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) claim brought against Fidelity. Proof or explanation is not needed to claim this payment.
      • Identity Theft Protection and Credit Monitoring: All Settlement Class Members are eligible to enroll in two (2) years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete. This comprehensive service comes with $1 million of financial fraud insurance, and includes monitoring for fraud or identity theft, dark web postings, unauthorized financial transactions, and personal information associated with high-risk transactions. If anything suspicious happens, you will be able to talk to a fraud resolution agent to help fix any problems.

Thanks for sharing this list of class action lawsuits! For any readers who might be skeptical and think this is a gimmick, it’s not! The first time I filed a claim for a class action lawsuit, that I was entitled to, I didn’t confidently believe I would be awarded back MY MONEY! If the lawsuit is one that you qualify for, truthfully, then get back the money that is rightfully yours! It’s not free money, it’s your hard earned money! If it wasn’t for this article, I’d be unaware. So much appreciation Free Stuff Finder! I love this site!

I qualify for the Credit Karma also but don’t see where to file the claim. Appreciate any info. thanks

Hi Sherri! According to official settlement documents, the FTC will be working directly with Credit Karma to identify eligible consumer for the payout. That means you won’t have to fill out a separate claim form or sign up for the Credit Karma settlement. If you qualify, you can expect to receive your payment directly without any extra steps required. I hope this helps!
