I could not find a free standing store in NJ in my area. Ulta in Princeton was also not offering the free MAC lipsticks. Did anyone in any other state than NJ score one of these yesterday on the 29th of July? I even called a local Macy’s and no one picked up in their MAC department at all. It seems no one is or was offering as to what is listed.
I live in NJ too and was disappointed about the MAC situation. I live in Middlesex/Somerset county (the literal border) and there are lots of malls, Ultas, and department stores with MAC counters (and Sephoras plus Sephora in Kohls and Ulta in Target) but I could only recall one MAC standalone store- the one in the Cherry Hill mall when I happened to go there to visit my brother in 2012. After doing research online, I found out that there are standalone MAC stores only in the Cherry Hill Mall, American Dream Mall in East Rutherford (by Meadowlands, one of the largest, if not the largest, mall in the country), and Willowbrook Mall in Wayne,NJ. I think there might be one in Garden State Plaza mall in Paramus but it was hard to tell (I’m thinking maybe there was one but it closed?), and apparently there’s also one inside Newark Airport. But as for standalone stores those are the only options, and I spoke to a MAC customer service rep who said the free lipstick offer was only available inside the standalone stores and not in Ulta or department store counters. I was really disappointed; I didn’t find out it was National Lipstick Day and that MAC had that offer plus sales until the afternoon, and I don’t drive and am all alone. If I had been able to get it at a mall close to me I would’ve taken an Uber, or if I had known earlier in the day and could take myself I would’ve driven to one of the malls with a standalone store to take advantage of the offer, visit a standalone store, and see what else the mall had to offer. It’s disappointing.
Why would you think ulta would do the same as a MAC store just because they sell it..
