The first Markdown and Clearance of 2026 at Ross started on January 26th! Select items with pink tags will be marked down to just 49¢. Please note the associates need to manually mark down each item so it takes hours and days to do so. In recent years, this after-holiday clearance event has become more and more popular, therefore the competition is way bigger than before. As usual, it’s best not to wait when it comes to clearance because shelves are being cleared fast!
What To Expect During Ross 49¢ Sale?
As with all store clearance sales, please note that store inventory and pricing may vary per location, and not all Ross stores participate in the 49¢ clearance event. Hence, we would suggest you call your nearest outlet before you head out to confirm if the sale is ongoing.
Also, keep in mind it may take a few days to complete the markdowns. The employees have to scan and re-sticker each item so it’s a slow process. Some stores will have more than others and items do go fast! Look everywhere! You can find sale items throughout the store on clothing, beauty products, shoes, and home goods! Check every department and make sure to dig deep and look for hot pink tags to identify the clearance items and get there ASAP!
Ross Clearance Shopping Tips
- Ross markdowns happen on Mondays, which means the best days to shop are Monday evening or early Tuesday morning before Senior Tuesday.
- Tuesday is “Senior” Day at many Ross stores (may vary by location) and those 55 or older can get a 10% discount on everything in-store.
- Check every department, you can find sale items throughout the store! Clothing, beauty products, shoes, home goods! Check every department!
- Stock varies and changes regularly. There’s no guarantee that what you see today will be there tomorrow, so if you find something you love, grab it while you can.
- Watch for “Irregular” items throughout the store as they may be cheaper (they’ll usually be marked on the tag).

I went yesterday and there was nothing 49cents??
We showed up to ours this morning and the line was already 100 deep! By the time we got in everyone’s carts were overflowing leaving nothing left for the rest of us. One guy had his kid literally tossing sale items into their cart in the toy section. There wasn’t a single sale item left for me to get my son whose birthday is next week. I wish they would put a maximum items limit on days like this. ….. it’s too much like Black Friday.
Yes same here….so many people literally grabbing stacks of clothing and putting it in carts. I was only able to grab some soaps and a tablecloth.
