Virgin Scent agreed to pay $3.08 million to settle claims that it sold benzene-contaminated Artnaturals hand sanitizer. Class members do not need to provide proof of purchase to file a claim. The settlement applies to customers who purchased any Artnaturals hand sanitizer products that are owned and operated by Virgin Scent between January 1, 2015, and May 23, 2023. Virgin Scent has not admitted any wrongdoing but has agreed to a $3.08 million settlement to end the hand sanitizer class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the settlement, class members can receive a cash payment based on the number of hand sanitizer products they purchased. With proof of purchase, class members are not limited in the number of products they can claim. Without proof of purchase, class members can claim only 10 products.
- Members of the class can also receive up to $1,000 in medical monitoring.
- The deadline for withdrawal and objection is August 12, 2023.
- The settlement’s final approval hearing is scheduled for September 20, 2023.
- Class members must submit a valid claim form by August 12, 2023, in order to receive a settlement payment.
