Just as a warning to everyone, I started an Acorns account through the FSF link that was promising a $40 bonus over two months ago and still have never received the bonus despite having weekly investments to Acorns. I’m looking into closing my account and considering turning over my records and screenshots of all my conversations with Acorns’ customer service to the appropriate government agency for false advertising and playing games with my bank account if I don’t receive this alleged ‘bonus’ within two weeks.

They aren’t going to give you any bonus right away, they keep telling you that you have to wait more time and more time and more time, and I’m frankly doubtful that this bonus will ever happen. This may be a case of ‘if it sounds too good to be true…’ If this changes and I actually do get the bonus, I’ll update. But regardless, don’t expect any bonus for over two months at a minimum.

Oh no! So sorry to hear you had a bad experience with them. Since you said you had a conversation with their customer service, what did they say regarding the $40 bonus? They should’ve sent you some explanation. Please let me know so that I can investigate further k?

        • Hi! Okay — it took well over a month, it’s actually almost two months, but I did finally get the $40 about a week ago. So for their promos, expect to wait (a lot longer than I feel is reasonable). Once you join, you’ll get more promo offers like $750 for referring three people, but considering that $40 took two months to get, I shuddered at the idea of how long it’d take to get $750 out of them.

I’m so glad to hear that you’ve finally received the bonus from Acorns, even though it took longer than expected. Waiting for almost two months can be quite frustrating, but I truly appreciate you coming back to share the update. I hope that moving forward, your experience with Acorns will be smoother and even more rewarding.

This company hacked our personnal account 2x s in one week. Not the bank card but account itself. Never heard of them before that. Our bank refunded the money. Be careful!

I did this a couple of days ago and immediately invested $5 into my account and still haven’t gotten the $40 credit.

Hey there! According to their website, bonuses will be invested within 30 days once Acorns verifies all eligibility criteria have been met. But I would still suggest you contact them to check, just to be sure. Let me know how it goes, okay?

It takes around 7-10 days i think. Acorns is a little slower with transactions but they are my top referral for anyone looking to passively invest!! They give investors the ability to make decisions about their portfolio (if they want) but in a manner that’s easy for finance noobies. They also offer great ways to invest for your children or retirement with all the tax benefits included, and offer ways to get investments when you shop & the occasional challenge offer from Acorns. It’s a great brokerage, be patient & I know you’ll find it’s worth it!
