You should save your extra bucks from first transaction since you were using %off coupon on second one. It took off your extra bucks value and then %off coupon applied. If you didn’t use your extra bucks, you could save a bit more.

Ah I see what you are saying. I rarely go to CVS and I didn’t want to spend anything out of pocket so I just used it all. If I didn’t use the $3 ECB, it would have been $1.10 oop. Every time I see a deal, I never have all the coupons that other people have.

        • It would be $1.89 moneymaker since your first transaction is free. Your would pay $5.10 for 2nd transaction, get $4 from Shopkick, which would be $1.10, but considering your 1st transaction moneymaker ( $3 ECB – $ 1.10) , you make $1.89. Your extra bucks that you get back are coupons from CVS and treated as such during transaction, but they are essentially your money, just in different form.

          • 🤯 Ah I get it. Thanks skurc! Always learning something new here. I always try to avoid ECB and Walgreens RR because it’s way too much pressure. Walgreens RR have so many restrictions on when you can use them. Are there any restrictions for ECBs? Can I just use them whenever?

            • That is what I like about CVS extra bucks. You can use them on anything. There is no restriction if you have booster or make spend deals. The only problem combining them with % off coupons, so I never combine them. In Walgreens there are so many rules on RR and WC that I can barely able to make deals using them. I have seen though that lately Walgreens changed the system and RR apply differently now, they don’t attach to any item, but don’t know how long it will last.

          • That’s great to know that I can use them without any restrictions. Now I know for next time and maybe I’ll go more often. In the past I’ve only gone maybe once every three-four months.

        • Let’s say you didn’t make money on first transaction, but spend $3 and got $3 back in extra bucks. So, you got the product for free, but these $3 extra bucks are now your money you got back in order to make this item free. So, if you use these extra bucks in second transaction as you did, you actually are paying now $5.29 from your pocket and are getting $4 from Shopkick, so you don’t make money then and are paying $1.29 for the product. The math just will not work otherwise. It is just for an example. I see many times that extra bucks are used and then suddenly it is a moneymaker, which is not true because then the item you earned your extra bucks on to begin with are not free or low cost. It becomes double counting, and the balance in the end doesn’t work if you ever try to track your couponing.

          • This all makes perfect sense. Thank you so much for explaining all this. I appreciate you 🥰. I always want to learn as much as possible.

            • You are welcome! I don’t ever want to overstep my boundaries, but it pains me to see someone loose on money. Thank you too for all the deals you post! So helpful 🥰

        • Since you are not shopping much there and your first transaction is a moneymaker anyway, you didn’t loose much anyway. I shop once a week there just because I am rolling extra bucks from previous deals. Don’t get good coupons often either as many others do.

          • Hey skurc, my CVS guru 😊For this deal, how many times can I get the $5 ECB for this? I just purchased 2 Nivea tubs and got the $5 ECB. Can I keep getting sets of 2 and keep getting $5 ECBs? Is there a limit?

          • 😫 Thanks! Thought it would be too good to be true. I finally found a place they carried them too.

            • They rarely have a limit more than 1 now. Usually it is on cosmetics. I know, it is hard to find the store that carries these cheap items that also included in the promo.
